Based in Gateshead, I create bespoke celebration cakes for birthdays, weddings, baby showers, anniversaries, baptisms and other special occasions across Newcastle upon Tyne, Tyne & Wear and the wider North East. Each cake is baked from scratch using quality ingredients and can be tailored to your preferred style, flavours and occasion.

Cake Design
From simple celebration cakes to show-stopping wedding cakes, I specialise in buttercream finishes, tailored to suit your occasion, preferred colours and personal style. Take a look through my cake portfolio to see more, or if you have a particular style in mind, feel free to email an inspiration photo to abby@sweetandfair.co.uk or get in touch to discuss your ideas. I don't copy other artists' work exactly, but I'm always happy to use inspiration photos to create a cake with my own twist.

My starting prices include three layers of sponge, coated in smooth buttercream and finished with simple decoration to complement the flavour. For more detailed or bespoke designs, please get in touch for a personalised quote.

Cake Flavours
I've spent plenty of time testing and refining my cake recipes to create eight signature flavours, each with its own combination of sponge and buttercream. If you have a favourite flavour that isn't listed, just ask. I'm happy to discuss alternatives and see what I can offer.
BISCOFF
Inspired by Lotus biscuits, this brown sugar sponge is lightly spiced with cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, allspice and cloves, and is filled with a Biscoff buttercream
CARROT & WALNUT
A light and moist carrot cake spiced with cinnamon and a hint of nutmeg, studded with (optional) chopped walnuts, and topped with a vanilla cream cheese buttercream
CHOCOLATE FUDGE
A rich, almost brownie-like, chocolate fudge cake covered with an even-more-decadent dark chocolate ganache buttercream
LEMON & BLUEBERRY
A zesty lemon sponge dotted with juicy whole blueberries, layered with lemon curd and a sweet and zingy lemon buttercream
RASPBERRY & WHITE CHOCOLATE
A light and fluffy cake with a generous helping of raspberries and white chocolate chunks, paired with a white chocolate ganache buttercream (and optional jam)
SPICED APPLE & MAPLE
Spiced with cinnamon, ginger, mixed spice, allspice and cloves, this comforting cake contains small chunks of Bramley apples and is paired with a maple syrup and brown sugar buttercream
STICKY TOFFEE
A sweet and sticky sponge made with blitzed tea-infused dates and brown sugar, complemented by a luscious sticky toffee buttercream
VANILLA
A moist vanilla sponge cake made with a double dose of Madagascan vanilla extract, coated with vanilla buttercream (and optional jam)
Cake Taster Boxes
Not sure which flavour to choose? My cake taster boxes give you the chance to sample all eight signature flavours from the comfort of your home. They're particularly useful for couples planning their wedding, or anyone who'd like to try the flavours before ordering a cake.
Taster boxes are offered occasionally, depending on demand, so they're not always available. Each box costs £25 and includes eight different cake slices, each with two layers of sponge and complementary buttercream. They freeze well, so you don't have to eat them all at once!

Please note: the carrot cake in my taster boxes is made without walnuts.
