About Our Business

Why Sweet & Fair?

When Sweet & Fair began, it was all about sharing our love of baking and patisserie, so it felt only right that ‘Sweet’ should be reflected in our name! Over the years, we have branched out into savoury food, and now offer a variety of delicate sandwiches, colourful salads and flavourful pastries. But making sweet treats remains a passion and we pride ourselves on the array of high-quality homemade desserts we provide.

As for ‘Fair’, it's important to us that our business treats people fairly, contributes positively to the community and respects the environment. This means sourcing our ingredients carefully; for example, choosing Fairtrade or Rainforest Alliance certified products, free range eggs, and local British produce where possible; and continually looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint. Most of our packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable, and being a small business helps us to minimise food waste (we’ll gladly finish off anything we don’t manage to sell, even the sandwich crusts!) Finally, we donate 10% of profits to charities - particularly those who aim to  improve nutrition and combat poverty, hunger and social inequalities.

As for ‘Fair’, it has always been important to us to ensure that our business operates in a way that treats people and animals fairly, contributes positively to the local community and respects the environment. This means sourcing our ingredients carefully; for example, choosing products that are certified with the Fairtrade mark or Rainforest Alliance logo, only ever using free range eggs, and selecting local British produce where possible. We’re also always looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint and most of our packaging is recyclable, reusable or compostable. Everything was excellent thanks, lots of very good feedback like “that’s the best catering we’ve had!” I loved the eclairs but I’m saving a cheesecake until later on, I’m so full!
